It grants various postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, being affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). The institute was established in the year 1965 by the Government of the NCT of Delhi and it was named after Sikh Martyr, Bhai Parmanand in 1986.
