Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU; Chinese: 北京外国语大学; pinyin: Běijīng Wàiguóyǔ Dàxué), commonly known as Beiwai (Chinese: 北外) in Mandarin, is a public university in Beijing, China. BFSU boasts of the oldest language programs in China, offering the largest number of foreign language majors on different educational levels. Located in Haidian District of Beijing, BFSU is divided into two campuses – west and east. It is a Chinese Ministry of Education Double First Class Discipline University, with Double First Class status in certain disciplines.

BFSU is a notable research university specializing in foreign studies according to recent collegiate rankings. BFSU ranked the 17th out of 2,965 universities in China according to the statistics conducted on scores of test takers from 2012 to 2019 for the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao). BFSU retained its ranking in 2020.

BFSU alumni are well-known for Chinese diplomacy circles, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China. Around 400 ambassadors and over 1,000 counselors graduated from BFSU. BFSU is thus known as “Cradle of Diplomats”. BFSU was affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from its establishment in 1941 to the early 1980s and was classified a key university under the Ministry of Education. BFSU is praised for offering the widest range of language studies in China: as of September 2019, there are 101 foreign languages being taught in this university. BFSU qualified for the first round of the competition in its efforts to enter Project 211, a university development plan launched by the Ministry of Education in 1996. BFSU has more than 1,000 international students from all over the world, more than 100 countries. Computer is an IEEE Computer Society practitioner-oriented magazine issued to all members of the society. It contains peer-reviewed articles, regular columns, and interviews on current computing-related issues. Computer provides information regarding current research developments, trends, best practices, and changes in the computing profession. The Federal Government College Lagos (FGCL) is a co-educational secondary school in Ijanikin, Lagos, Nigeria. It was established by the Federal giveMinistry of Education in 1975. The idea of this college in Lagos was conceived in the minds of the authorities of the Federal Ministry of Education early in 1974 when they thought it necessary to have one co-educational institution for Lagos state as there were in all the then 12 states of the Federation.

The college was founded by the Federal Ministry of Education in line with the Federal Government’s intention to establish in each state of the federation one co-educational as well as one girls’ secondary school. At inception, the college opened with 116 Form One and 45 Lower Six students with a teaching staff of 20. The Form One students were made up of 64 boys and 52 girls, while the Lower Six students consisted of 24 boys and 21 girls. Both the students and staff were distributed into four houses namely: Eagle, Elephant, Peacock and Tiger. As of 2005 the college had a population of 2,585 students and 492 teaching and non-teaching staff.The period between 1975 and 1980 was marked with growing pains ranging from lack of a permanent facility and other infrastructural issues. At first, the school had classes at the then government Trade Center, Yaba while the students lived in rented private houses in Igbobi, Lagos (near the Igbobi College campus).At the beginning of the 1976-77 academic session, classes were held inside temporary classroom buildings built on the premises of the Lagos State Government College, Ojo, now the site of the Lagos State University (LASU). During this period the girls lived within the same compound in Ojo, while the boys remained in the Igbobi dormitory facility, travelling by a school bus to and from Ojo. This arrangement was interrupted between January and March, 1977 due to heavy traffic along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway as a result of the World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC ‘77), an international trade show hosted by Nigeria. Consequently, the school, along with the girl's dormitory, was moved back to the Yaba Trade Center.

As part of an interim arrangement for the college, Science Practicals (Laboratory) were conducted for the Lower Six and Upper Six Students at the National Technical Teachers’ College, Lagos between October, 1975 and April, 1977. Starting in April 1977, the boys were relocated to new buildings at Satellite Town, the residential complex built and used during the prior FESTAC ’77 event, while the girls were moved back to the Lagos State facility in Ojo. The boys were transported daily by bus from Satellite Town to and from classrooms in Ojo. This situation continued until late in September 1980 when the school moved to its permanent and present site at Ijanikin.

The school commenced the 1980-81 academic session in Ijanikin with a transformation in the school administration and the boarding house system. First, the post of the Vice Principal was broken into two functional roles, namely the Vice Principal of Administration and the Vice Principal of Academics. Second, the school boarding house groupings (with corresponding house colors) were expanded from the original four groups (named after animals) to six groups (named after historical persons) as follows:

All the students were redistributed into these six boarding houses. As both the students and staff population increased, and in order to facilitate effective administration and excellent performance, the posts of Officer-in-Charge (O/C) Administration and Officer-in-Charge (O/C) Academic were created. To further enhance effectiveness, more O/C’s were later appointed in 1995.

The school has continued to make great strides. The population of the school in terms of staff and students has greatly expanded. There has been an increase in the infra-structural facilities with more Parent Teacher Association (PTA) participation. In fact, the PTA has provided many facilities for the college, among which are classroom buildings, hostel buildings, sports pavilion, and water wells. Academically the college has won many laurels—the college emerged first overall among the first generation of federal unity colleges.

The European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), also known as Fédération Européenne du Génie Chimique and Europäische Föderation für Chemie-Ingenieur-Wesen, is an association of professional societies in Europe concerned with chemical engineering. It was formed in Paris on 20 June 1953 with 18 societies in 8 countries. India was the first non-European member in 1956 and Czechoslovakia the first Eastern European one in 1966.

As of November 2016, it has 38 member societies in 29 countries joining 162000 individual chemical engineers. (Some countries have more than one member society). The EFCE passport programme allows members of one society some of the benefits of membership in other societies when travelling abroad, particularly for conferences.

It has a set of 20 Working Parties and 5 Sections comprising about 1000 industrial and academic experts on different subjects who meet to facilitate international cooperation and progress in their specialist areas. The Working Party on Education has published documents on the Bologna process. The working party on Characterisation of particulate systems (ChOPS) is working closely with authorities and analyses the influence of particles in combination with challenges like the Dieselgate.

The Secretariat is jointly administered by IChemE (UK), DECHEMA e.V. (Germany) and Société Française de Génie des Procédés (France). The current president (1 January 2018 –) is Dr Hermann J. Feise of BASF.

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is a public community college in Lexington, Kentucky. It is one of sixteen two-year, open admission colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). It was formed from the consolidation of two separate institutions: Lexington Community College and Central Kentucky Technical College. Lexington Community College was the last remaining college in the University of Kentucky Community College System, until a vote by the trustees transferred governance to KCTCS in 2004. Prior to 1984, the college was named Lexington Technical Institute. Central Kentucky Technical College was part of the Workforce Development Cabinet of Kentucky State Government until the creation of KCTCS in 1997. The Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) was established in 1992 as an outcome of the Second World Climate Conference, to ensure that the observations and information needed to address climate-related issues are obtained and made available to all potential users. The GCOS is co-sponsored by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the International Council for Science (ICSU). In order to assess and monitor the adequacy of in-situ observation networks as well as satellite-based observing systems, GCOS regularly reports on the adequacy of the current climate observing system to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and thereby identifies the needs of the current climate observing system.

GCOS is a system that comprises the climate-relevant components of many contributing observing systems and networks. Its mission is to help ensure that these contributing systems, taken as a whole, provide the comprehensive information on the global climate system that is required by users, including individuals, national and international organizations, institutions and agencies. The programme promotes the sustained provision and availability of reliable physical, chemical and biological observations and data records for the total climate system - across the atmospheric, oceanic and terrestrial domains, including the hydrological cycle, the carbon cycle and the cryosphere.
