The International Polar Years (IPY) are collaborative, international efforts with intensive research foci on the polar regions. Karl Weyprecht, an Austro-Hungarian naval officer, motivated the endeavor in 1875, but died before it first occurred in 1882–1883. Fifty years later (1932–1933) a second IPY took place. The International Geophysical Year was inspired by the IPY and was organized 75 years after the first IPY (1957–58). The fourth, and most recent, IPY covered two full annual cycles from March 2007 to March 2009.

The company has been criticized for predatory publishing practices. As of 2019, it publishes 430 journals in various fields.

Holy Family University is a private Roman Catholic university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was chartered in 1954 by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. In addition to the main Torresdale campus in the northeastern section of the city, there is a satellite location in Newtown. There was an additional satellite location on Bristol Pike in Bensalem that has since been sold and has not held classes since Spring of 2018.

Herbert Fletcher University (HFU) is a non profit online distance learning educational institution of the Inter‐American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. It is named after the late Herbert L. Fletcher who was a church leader and educator within the Division for half a century. He was a past president of West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University).

Hefei University of Technology (simplified Chinese: 合肥工业大学; traditional Chinese: 合肥工業大學; pinyin: Hefei Gōngyè Dàxué) is a major and key university in China, with particular strength in Engineering and Management Science.
