BIHE meaning in Academic & Science ?

Answer» What is Bahá'í Institute for Higher Education mean?

The Baháʼí Institute for Higher Education (BIHE), is a unique open university in Iran, which has been portrayed as an underground university, established by the Baháʼí community of Iran in 1987 to meet the educational needs of young people who have been systematically denied access to higher education by the Iranian government. Currently, through a main faculty in Iran and an Affiliated Global Faculty from universities around the world, BIHE offers a total of 40 undergraduate and graduate programs in Sciences, Engineering, Business and Management, Humanities, and Social Sciences. More than 110 universities in North America, Europe, and Australia have thus far accepted the BIHE's graduates directly into programs of graduate study at the masters and doctoral levels. BIHE has a decentralized and fluid structure and uses a hybrid approach of offline and online delivery methods which has enabled it to grow under unusual sociopolitical circumstances. Despite numerous arrests, periodic raids, several imprisonments, mass confiscation of school equipment and general harassment, BIHE has continued and even expanded its operation. BIHE has received praise for offering a non-violent, creative, and constructive response to ongoing oppression.

CIRO meaning in Academic & Science ?

Answer» What is Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office mean?

The Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office (内閣情報調査室, Naikaku Jōhō Chōsashitsu), also known as Naichō (内調), is a Japanese intelligence agency under the Cabinet Secretariat. It reports directly to the Prime Minister.

The agency is said to be an equal to the American Central Intelligence Agency. However, it is often criticized as being rather ineffectual, spending most of its energy translating foreign publications rather than gathering any substantial intelligence, while being accused of spying on Japanese nationals on domestic soil.

Like most intelligence agencies in Japan, its personnel are usually recruited from other agencies. Around 100 out of 170 CIRO agents are from other agencies/ministries with top positions occupied by career police officers.

As of 2019, the CIRO has close contact with the National Security Council (Japan) as a communication channel to the prime minister. The CIRO is headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, in a building called "H20".

Trig meaning in Academic & Science ?

Answer» What is Trigonometry mean?

Trigonometry (from Greek trigōnon, "triangle" and metron, "measure") is a branch of mathematics that studies relationships between side lengths and angles of triangles. The field emerged in the Hellenistic world during the 3rd century BC from applications of geometry to astronomical studies. The Greeks focused on the calculation of chords, while mathematicians in India created the earliest-known tables of values for trigonometric ratios (also called trigonometric functions) such as sine.

Throughout history, trigonometry has been applied in areas such as geodesy, surveying, celestial mechanics, and navigation.

Trigonometry is known for its many identities. These trigonometric identities are commonly used for rewriting trigonometrical expressions with the aim to simplify an expression, to find a more useful form of an expression, or to solve an equation.

TRID meaning in Academic & Science ?

Answer» What is Transport Research International Documentation mean?

The TRID Database (Transportation Research International Documentation) is a database that combines the records from USA Transportation Research Board's Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) database and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Joint Transport Research Centre's International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) Database. The merging of these databases formed the world's largest and most comprehensive bibliographic resource on transportation research information. As of July 2020 TRID contains more than 1.25 million records of published and ongoing research, covering all modes and disciplines of air, ground, and water transportation—books, technical reports, conference proceedings, and journal articles. Many records contain links to full-text documents. The records in TRID are indexed with a standardized vocabulary from the Transportation Research Thesaurus (TRT) which has integrated both the TRIS and ITRD thesauri. Aspects of the Australian Road Research Board's ATRI and ROAD Thesauri are also incorporated.

Among the transportation modes covered are highways and streets, public transport, railroads, maritime traffic, aviation, pipelines, pedestrians and bicycles.Among the professional disciplines from which documents in TRID arise are: public planning, management, finance, design, engineering, construction, materials science, environmental issues, safety and human factors and ergonomics, and operations.

TRID indexes documents held by the TRB Transportation Research Library and ITRD and also receives records from several external sources: 1) the J-STAGE database maintained by the Japan Science and Technology Agency; 2) Northwestern University Transportation Library; 3) the Australian Transport Index (ATRI); and 4) SafetyLit. The TRID database publishes monthly an update of the more than 800 serials from which articles arise.

ESDB meaning in Academic & Science ?

Answer» What is European Soil Database mean?

The European Soil Database is the only harmonized soil database in Europe from which many other data information and services are derived. For instance, the European Soil Database v2 Raster Library contains raster (grid) data files with cell sizes of 1km x 1km for a large number of soil related parameters. Each grid is aligned with the INSPIRE reference grid . These rasters are in the public domain and allow expert users to use the data for instance to run soil-, water- and air related models. . The European Soil Database may be downloaded from the European Soil Data Center (ESDAC).

The soil raster data files are accompanied by as many static soil maps (PDF Format, A3), which allow the user to have a quick overview of the distribution of soil characteristics in a spatial way. The many rasters include parameters such as soil texture (clay, silt and sand), parent material, WRB soil type, Obstacle to roots, soil depth, Impermeability , Soil Water Regime, Water Management System, mineralogy, cation exchange capacity, packing density, available water capacity.

The European Soil Database is based on experts knowledge. In addition to the European Soil Database,

In an attempt to expand soil data at European scale, the European Commission Joint Research Centre runs the LUCAS topsoil survey collecting soil samples across the soils of European Union. Based on LUCAS topsoil database, scientists have modelled the spatial distribution of soil physical properties (sand, silt, clay, coarse fragments, etc).

Additionally, in ESDAC, a number of mapping services has been developed in order to allow the public to navigate and query soil data. The ESDAC Map Viewer is a web-based application for the navigation of ESDB related data through a map interface. This map service allows interaction through soil parameter selection and map operations such as zooming and panning. The data can be queried and identified. According to INSPIRE principles, this application has been created and extended using international standards (OGC - WMS) so that it is possible to combine layers of maps located in different map servers all around the World.
