United World Schools (UWS) is a UK registered charity that aims to 'teach the unreached' by building and developing community schools for out-of-school children in South East Asia. The charity operates schools in Cambodia Myanmar (Burma), and Nepal.

United World Schools have an education model whereby they partner with national governments and local communities to build schools, and also to build capacity locally so that each school can transition into government hands within seven years.

The charity also twins some of the community schools it develops with other schools in more affluent parts of the world. These schools help fund the UWS schools. and use the school partnership in curriculum areas such as global citizenship and International Baccalaureate studies. Some schools also provide volunteers for the schools and visit their UWS School. Schools are also funded by donations from individuals and organisations.

To date, United World Schools has opened a total of 250 new schools, trained over 1,200 teachers and given educational opportunities to more than 43,000 previously out-of-school children across Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) is a college athletic conference comprising schools that compete in 15 sports (13 men's and 13 women's). It has 220 member institutions in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, ranging in location from Maine to South Carolina and west to Missouri. Most or all members belong to at least one other athletic conference.

The ECAC was founded as the Central Office for Eastern Intercollegiate Athletics in 1938, largely through the efforts of James Lynah of Cornell University. In 1983, the Eastern Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (EAIAW) was consolidated into the ECAC. Most member schools are in other conferences as well, but through the ECAC they are able to participate in sports that their main conferences do not offer. Its headquarters are located in Danbury, Connecticut. The ECAC also now offers esports competitions to its member schools.

The Durham Performing Arts Center (often called the DPAC) opened November 30, 2008 as the largest performing arts center in the Carolinas at a cost of $48 million. The DPAC hosts over 200 performances a year including touring Broadway productions, high-profile concert and comedy events, family shows and the American Dance Festival. Operated under the direction of Nederlander and Professional Facilities Managaement (PFM), DPAC has twice been listed as the #1 performing arts organization in the Triangle region by the Triangle Business Journal. The Denver Performing Arts Complex (sometimes referred to locally as "The Plex," "The DCPA " or simply, "Arts Complex") located in Denver, Colorado, is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. The Marie P. DeBartolo Performing Arts Center (DPAC) is a performing arts venue located on the south end of the University of Notre Dame campus and open to the South Bend, Indiana, and wider community. The 150,000 square foot facility, which opened in September 2004, was financed in large part by a gift from Edward J. DeBartolo Sr., and the building was named in honor of his wife. All Bengal Teachers Association, a movement of teachers (excluding the Teachers and non-Teaching staff of schools under direct control of Government of West Bengal) in the Indian state of West Bengal. ABTA is one, although not the only, teachers and non-teaching staff's wing which is predominantly run by teachers or non-teaching staff of the Government Sponsored/aided schools who are either members or supporters of Communist Party of India (Marxist), though it is not directly affiliated to CPI(M). There are many members of this organization who are not in the same political league as CPI(M), but they still become members because it is by far the largest Teacher's Body of West Bengal.
