Downtown Music Gallery is a long-running, internationally-known record store, mail-order, and performance space located in New York City. It specializes in "Downtown Music", a recognized catchphrase for avant-garde jazz and contemporary composition, experimental, and improvisational music from around the world. It was founded in 1991, by David Yamner, Stephen Popkin and Bruce Lee Gallanter.

Parallel ATA (PATA), originally AT Attachment, also known as ATA or IDE is standard interface for IBM computers. It was first developed by Western Digital and Compaq in 1986 for compatible hard drives and CD or DVD drives. The connection is used for storage devices such as hard disk drives, floppy disk drives, and optical disc drives in computers.

The standard is maintained by the X3/INCITS committee. It uses the underlying AT Attachment (ATA) and AT Attachment Packet Interface (ATAPI) standards.

The Parallel ATA standard is the result of a long history of incremental technical development, which began with the original AT Attachment interface, developed for use in early PC AT equipment. Parallel ATA cables have a maximum allowable length of 18 in (457 mm). Because of this limit, the technology normally appears as an internal computer storage interface. For many years, ATA provided the most common and the least expensive interface for this application. It has largely been replaced by SATA in newer systems.

The Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) is the Illinois state-level affiliate of National Association for Music Education.

The Illinois Music Education Association exists to advocate for universal access to comprehensive music education; deliver exemplary professional development for educators; and provide outstanding musical experiences for all Illinois learners facilitated by licensed music educators.

ILMEA offers support to Illinois music educators through ongoing professional development opportunities, including the annual Illinois Music Education Conference held in Peoria, Illinois, in conjunction with the student All-State programs.

Students in Illinois audition to perform in an ILMEA ensemble (band, chorus, orchestra, jazz band or vocal jazz ensemble) within one of nine geographic districts. ILMEA advocates at the local, state and national level for fully-funded inclusion of music education for all Illinois students. The organization was part of the effort to include the Fine Arts as a weighted indicator on the Illinois School Report Card, the first state to advocate successfully for this measure. Additionally, ILMEA was instrumental in creating the Illinois Fine Arts Learning Standards and have them adopted by the Illinois State Board of Education as the benchmark standards for well-rounded music education programs.
