The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) is a department of the Ministry of Justice of Thailand. It operates independently of the Royal Thai Police and is tasked with the investigation of certain "special cases". These include complex criminal cases, those affecting national security, those involving organised criminal organisations and those potentially implicating high-ranking government officials or police officers. As of June 24, 2020 the DSI is tasked to investigate and follow up on cases under the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearances if and when it becomes law on cases involving torture or forced disappearances.

The DSI is often referred to as Thailand's counterpart to the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Since its inception, the DSI has seen conflicts with the police over jurisdiction and authority over cases, and department officials have publicly expressed concern that the department's work has been consistently subject to political interference.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Korawat Panprapakorn was named DSI Director-General in April 2020. The position had been vacant since Police Colonel Paisit Wongmuang's resignation in February for health reasons.

The Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) is a professional association of university professors, graduate students, and practitioners whose interest lies in the application of quantitative research and qualitative research to the decision problems of individuals, organizations, and society. Many of the members of this academic organization are faculty members in business schools. The DSI currently is hosted in the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.

Members of the Institute share their research findings at DSI's Annual Meeting (DSI's main academic conference), international DSI meetings, or regional conferences. The Decision Sciences Institute also publishes two journals and hosts annual award competitions for contributions to innovation education, the best case study, and best doctoral dissertation. The Data Science Institute is a research institute at the Imperial College London founded in May 2014. The Disability Rights Commission (DRC) was established by the British Labour government in 1999. At that time, the DRC was the UK's third equality commission alongside the Commission for Racial Equality and the Equal Opportunities Commission. Its chairman from 2000 to 2007 was Bert Massie.

The DRC was charged with reviewing the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and recommending its amendment. It had rights of investigation and enforcement of disability legislation, and was responsible for advising employers on how to secure equal acceptance of disabled employees in the workplace. The DRC replaced an earlier and weaker body, the National Disability Council, established by the Conservatives in the 1990s.

The passing of the Equality Act 2006 means that in October 2007 the DRC was replaced by a new Equality and Human Rights Commission with powers across all equality law (race, sex, disability, religion and belief, sexual orientation and age).

The DRC was a non-departmental public body (NDPB) of the Department for Work and Pensions. Its head office was in Manchester city centre with other offices in central London, Cardiff and Edinburgh.

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) (Danish: Dansk Flygtningehjælp) is a private Danish humanitarian nonprofit organization, founded in 1956. It serves as an umbrella organization for 33 member organizations.

Formed after the Second World War in response to the European refugee crises caused by the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956, DRC has been active in large scale humanitarian projects around the world. Through convoy operations DRC was responsible for delivering half of the international humanitarian aid in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the wars of independence in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

Today the Danish Refugee Council works in more than 40 countries around the world, with humanitarian programs in conflict zones such as Somalia in the Horn of Africa, Afghanistan in Central Asia, Iraq in the Middle East and Chechnya in the Caucasus.

The Danish Refugee Council is one of the key humanitarian actors in Syria and its neighboring countries, as more than 500,000 persons receive emergency relief from DRC each month in the region. The situation in and around Syria is the largest humanitarian crisis the world is facing and 30% of the population have left their homes as a consequence of the violence. In Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq, DRC distributes relief aid in the form of mattresses, clothes, blankets and hygiene kits, gives educational assistance in terms of remedial classes and classes for the dropped out students, and rehabilitates shelters. Inside Syria, DRC helps displaced and conflict-affected Syrians in Homs, Daraa, Hama, Aleppo and Damascus.

The international DRC activities aims to protect refugees and internally displaced persons, and to promote long term solutions. DRC assistance in acute refugee crises remains focused on responses to long-term effects.

In October 2011, two DRC workers on a demining project were captured by Somali pirates in Galkayo. 93 days later they were rescued by United States Navy SEALs.

In September 2013, DRC opened a new representation office in Geneva.

In 2017, the Danish government donated DKK 2.5 million to the Danish Refugee Council for them to work together with IBM to develop a model that would track and possibly predict refugee and migrant flows, thereby improving humanitarian response planning. It is currently running its humanitarian campaign in Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar.
