The International League of Religious Socialists is an umbrella organization of religious socialist movements in political parties throughout the world. Founded in the 1920s, it has member groups in 21 countries totalling 200,000 members. For most of its history it was mainly European and contained mainly Christian socialist groups, but has recently expanded to the Americas, Africa, and Australia and to include more groups with connections to other religions. It is an associate organisation of the Socialist International.

The city was credited as the "number one spot for U.S. insurance companies" in a Business Wire article and named the third-largest "insurance capital" of the world. The city is the headquarters for the Principal Financial Group, the Meredith Corporation, Ruan Transportation, TMC Transportation, EMC Insurance Companies, and Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Other major corporations such as Wells Fargo, Voya Financial, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, ACE Limited, Marsh, Monsanto, and Corteva have large operations in or near the metropolitan area. Des Moines is an important city in U.S. presidential politics; as the state's capital, it is the site of the first caucuses of the presidential primary cycle. The English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) is now operating as Activity Alliance. Activity Alliance brings our members, partners and disabled people together to make active lives possible. Collectively, the charity continues to challenge perceptions and change the reality of disability, inclusion and sport. Founded in 1998, EFDS was formed as an umbrella organisation for a number of organisations involved with supporting disabled people in sport.

Activity Alliance supports a wide range of people, including leisure facilities, local and national organisations to include disabled people more effectively. Working with a variety of partners they provide insight, training, inclusion programmes and resources. They use their knowledge and expertise to help others deliver more inclusive and accessible programmes. Musulmans de France (MF, French Muslims), formerly Union des organisations islamiques de France (UOIF, Union of Islamic Organisations of France) is a prominent Muslim umbrella organization, and the French chapter of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe. Its inclusion by then Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy into the Conseil Français du Culte Musulman has been criticized by both left-wing and right-wing members.

The UOIF was founded in 1983 in Meurthe-et-Moselle by two foreign students, Abdallah Ben Mansour (Tunisia) and Mahmoud Zouheir (Iraq) as a federation of about 15 organisations; as of 2005, it covers around 200 organisations. As objectives, the UOIF cites "to respond to religious, cultural, educational, social and humanitarian needs of the Muslims of France. Its website states that it "takes part in the individual and collective understanding of the need for a responsible and positive integration". [1]. The UOIF owns around 30 mosques and directs around 200 others.

It is the French chapter of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe, which is partly funded by money from the Gulf States, and whose aim is to promote an Islam adapted to the European context. The UOIE is directed from the United Kingdom by Ahmed al-Rawi, assisted by the European Council of Research and Fatwa, which studies and edicts "collective fatwas to answer questions for Muslims of Europe and solve their problems, in accordance to the rules and aims of the sharia".

On November 7, 2005, the UOIF issued a rather ineffective fatwa condemning the ongoing civil unrests, saying that "it is strictly forbidden for any Muslim [...] to take part in any action that strikes blindly at private or public property or that could threaten the lives of others".

CUFA (Central Única das Favelas) is a non-governmental organization in Brazil. Celso Athayde, a music producer and community organizer born in Favela do Sapo, founded the organization in 1999 with rapper and social activist MV Bill. The Lotus International Character Set (LICS) is a proprietary single-byte character encoding introduced in 1985 by Lotus Development Corporation.
