The Norwegian Internet Exchange or NIX is an Internet exchange with presence in Tromsø, Trondheim, Bergen, Stavanger and Oslo, Norway. NIX is owned and operated by the Centre for Information Technology Services (USIT), University of Oslo. Companies connected to the NIX are most ISPs operating in Norway, in addition to Amazon and the two largest Norwegian broadcasting companies, NRK and TV2. NIX provides a neutral pricing model.

NIX1 is the primary site for the Norwegian Internet Exchange. NIX1 is colocated at three sites in Oslo.

LIN (Local Interconnect Network) is a serial network protocol used for communication between components in vehicles. It is a Single wire-serial network protocol that supports communications up to 19.2 Kbit/s at a bus length of 40 meters. The need for a cheap serial network arose as the technologies and the facilities implemented in the car grew, while the CAN bus was too expensive to implement for every component in the car. European car manufacturers started using different serial communication technologies, which led to compatibility problems.

Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a routing technique in telecommunications networks that directs data from one node to the next based on short path labels rather than long network addresses, thus avoiding complex lookups in a routing table and speeding traffic flows. A mobile network operator (MNO), also known as a wireless service provider, wireless carrier, cellular company, or mobile network carrier, is a provider of wireless communications services that owns or controls all the elements necessary to sell and deliver services to an end user, including radio spectrum allocation, wireless network infrastructure, back haul infrastructure, billing, customer care, provisioning computer systems, and marketing and repair organizations.

In addition to obtaining revenue by offering retail services under its own brand, an MNO may also sell access to network services at wholesale rates to mobile virtual network operators (MVNO).
