Long Beach is a city in Nassau County, in New York, United States. It takes up a central section of the Long Beach Barrier Island, which is the westernmost of the outer barrier islands off Long Island's South Shore. As of the 2010 United States census, the city population was 33,275, and 33,454 in 2019. It was incorporated in 1922, and is nicknamed "The City By the Sea" (the Latin form, Civitas ad mare, is the city's motto). The Long Beach Barrier Island is surrounded by Reynolds Channel to the north, east and west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.

The Austin and Northwestern Railroad began construction on a rail line west of Austin, Texas, USA, toward Llano on April 20, 1881. The railroad was originally built as a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge line with plans to connect to the Texas and Pacific Railway at Abilene. Construction reached Burnet, Texas, by 1882 and the line was later extended to Granite Mountain by 1885 - when the railroad was contracted to haul pink granite for the new Texas State Capitol building in Austin. The company later extended its line 2.3 miles (3.7 km) to Marble Falls by using the charter of the Granite Mountain and Marble Falls City Railroad. Due to a bend in the tracks, trains would occasionally derail, accidentally dumping some of the pink granite. The rocks which remain are a local point of interest.

The line was converted to 4 ft 8+1⁄2 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge and by 1892 the railroad was extended to Llano. In 1901 the Texas legislature approved the merger of the Austin and Northwestern and the Houston and Texas Central Railroad. As a condition of the merger, a new passenger terminal was constructed at Austin, and the line was extended from Burnet to Lampasas in 1903. The Texas and New Orleans Railroad absorbed the line in 1934 and it was later absorbed into the Southern Pacific Company.

In 1986, Southern Pacific elected to abandon the entire 163-mile (262 km) Giddings to Llano line. The City of Austin and Capital Metro purchased the railroad for $9.3 million, with the intent of using the right-of-way as a mass transit corridor. Capital Metro commenced commuter rail service in 2010 on 32 miles of track.

The Lebanese British Friends of the National Museum or LBFNM is a private, cultural heritage organization that was founded in London in 1993 with the aim of supporting the National Museum of Beirut.

The organization has assisted with the renovation of the Museum laboratory and improving connections with the British Museum. The LBFNM has also assisted with their exhibitions, the museum catalog and published various books on various historical and archaeological topics. It also publishes a journal entitled Archaeology and History in Lebanon (ISSN 1475-5564). The organization also organizes an annual symposia, hosting a reception after the symposium of 2008 at the Bristol Hotel in Beirut with guests including Tammam Salam, Inas Saleh and Semaan Bassil.

Kampot (Khmer: ក្រុងកំពត) is a city in southern Cambodia and the capital of Kampot Province. It is on the Praek Tuek Chhu River southeast of the Elephant Mountains and around 5 km (3 mi) from the Gulf of Thailand. Kampot was the capital of the Circonscription Résidentielle de Kampot under French rule and Cambodia's most important seaport after the loss of the Mekong Delta and before the establishment of Sihanoukville. Beirut ( bay-ROOT; Arabic: بيروت‎, romanized: Bayrūt) is the capital and largest city of Lebanon.
