ERTMS meaning in Regional ?

Answer» What is European Rail Traffic Management System mean?

The European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is the system of standards for management and interoperation of signalling for railways by the European Union (EU). It is conducted by the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) and is the organisational umbrella for the separately managed parts of

GSM–R (communication),European Train Control System (ETCS, signalling),European Train Management Layer (ETML, payload management)

The main target of ERTMS is to promote the interoperability of trains in the EU. It aims to greatly enhance safety, increase efficiency of train transports and enhance cross-border interoperability of rail transport in Europe. This is done by replacing former national signalling equipment and operational procedures with a single new Europe-wide standard for train control and command systems.

The development process was started with the technical foundations for communication (GSM-R) and signalling (ETCS). Both are well established and in advanced public implementation worldwide. Now it begins to start attention for the 3rd part of ETML i.e. for fleet management or passenger information.

Answer» What is Bahraini Arabic mean?

Bahrani Arabic (also known as Bahrani and Baharna Arabic) is a variety of Arabic spoken by the Baharna in Eastern Arabia and Oman. In Bahrain, the dialect is primarily spoken in Shia villages and some parts of Manama.

The Bahrani Arabic dialect has been significantly influenced by the ancient Aramaic, Syriac, and Akkadian languages.

An interesting sociolinguistic feature of Bahrain is the existence of three distinct dialects: Bahrani, Sunni and Ajami Arabic. Sunni Bahrainis speak a dialect which is most similar to urban dialect spoken in Qatar.

The Persian language has the most foreign linguistic influence on all the Bahraini dialects. The differences between Bahrani Arabic and other Bahraini dialects suggest differing historical origins. The main differences between Bahrani and non-Bahrani dialects are evident in certain grammatical forms and pronunciation. Most of the vocabulary, however, is shared between dialects, or is distinctly Bahraini, arising from a shared modern history. Many Bahrani words have also been borrowed from Hindi, Turkish, or English.

Answer» What is Egyptian Arabic mean?

Egyptian Arabic, locally known as Colloquial Egyptian (Arabic: العامية المصرية‎, [el.ʕæmˈmejjæ l.mɑsˤˈɾejjɑ]), or simply Masri (مَصرى), is the spoken vernacular Arabic dialect of Egypt.

Egyptian is a dialect of the Arabic language, which is part of the Afro-Asiatic language family. It originated in the Nile Delta in Lower Egypt. Egyptian Arabic evolved from the Quranic Arabic which was brought to Egypt during the seventh-century AD Muslim conquest that aimed to spread the Islamic faith among the Egyptians. Egyptian Arabic is influenced by the Egyptian Coptic language in its grammar structure which was the native language of the vast majority of Nile Valley Egyptians prior to the Islamic conquest and later it had influences by European and foreign languages such as French, Italian, Greek, Turkish and English. The 100 million Egyptians speak a continuum of dialects, among which Cairene is the most prominent. It is also understood across most of the Arabic-speaking countries due to broad Egyptian influence on the region. Furthermore, Egyptian media including cinema has had a big influence in the MENA region for more than a century, along with the music industry. These factors help to make it the most widely spoken and by far the most widely studied variety of Arabic.

While it is primarily a spoken language, the written form is used in novels, plays and poems (vernacular literature), as well as in comics, advertising, some newspapers and transcriptions of popular songs. In most other written media and in television news reporting, Literary Arabic is used. Literary Arabic is a standardized language based on the language of the Quran, that is, Classical Arabic. The Egyptian vernacular is almost universally written in the Arabic alphabet for local consumption, although it is commonly transcribed into Latin letters or in the International Phonetic Alphabet in linguistics text and textbooks aimed at teaching non-native learners.

AR-MA meaning in Regional ?

Answer» What is Moroccan Arabic mean?

Moroccan Arabic (Arabic: اللهجة المغربية‎, Moroccan Arabic: الدارجة المغربية‎), known as Darija in Morocco, is a form of vernacular Arabic spoken in Morocco. It is part of the Maghrebi Arabic dialect continuum and as such is mutually intelligible to some extent with Algerian Arabic and to a lesser extent with Tunisian Arabic. It is spoken as a first language by about 50% to 75% of Morocco's population. Most other Moroccans natively speak one of the Tamazight languages. Educated Moroccan Tamazight speakers can communicate in mainstream Moroccan Arabic.

Moroccan Arabic has been heavily influenced mainly by the Berber languages and to a lesser extent by Latin (African Romance), Punic, French, and Spanish. The differences between it and Middle Eastern colloquial Arabic dialects are significant enough that some linguists classify Moroccan Arabic, along with other North African dialects, as a different language. It has asymmetric intelligibility with Middle Eastern colloquial dialects in that although Moroccans can proficiently understand Middle Eastern colloquial Arabic dialects, Middle Eastern Arabic speakers have significant difficulty understanding Moroccan Arabic.

While Modern Standard Arabic is used to varying degrees in formal situations such as religious sermons, books, newspapers, government communications, news broadcasts and political talkshows, is rarely spoken in daily life. Moroccan Arabic is the predominant spoken language of the country and has a strong presence in Moroccan television entertainment, cinema and commercial advertising. Moroccan Arabic has many regional dialects and accents as well. Its mainstream dialect is the one used in Casablanca, Rabat and Fez, and therefore it dominates the media, eclipsing the other regional dialects like those spoken in Tangiers and Oujda.

Sahrawi Hassaniya Arabic, spoken in the Moroccan Sahara, is usually considered a separate spoken Arabic variety with some Amazigh (Berber) vocabulary.

AR-QA meaning in Regional ?

Answer» What is Qatari Arabic mean?

Gulf Arabic (خليجي Ḵalījī local pronunciation: [χɐˈliːdʒi] or اللهجة الخليجية il-lahja ol-Ḵalījīya, local pronunciation: [((ɪ)lˈlɐhdʒɐ lχɐˈliːdʒiːjɐ]) is a variety of the Arabic language spoken in Eastern Arabia around the coasts of the Persian Gulf in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, southern Iraq, eastern Saudi Arabia, northern Oman, and by some Iranian Arabs.

Gulf Arabic can be defined as a set of closely related and more or less mutually intelligible varieties that form a dialect continuum, with the level of mutual intelligibility between any two varieties largely depending on the distance between them. Similar to other Arabic varieties, Gulf Arabic varieties are not completely mutually intelligible with other Arabic varieties spoken outside the Gulf. The specific dialects differ in vocabulary, grammar and accent. There are considerable differences between, for instance, Kuwaiti Arabic and the dialects of Qatar and the UAE, especially in pronunciation, that may hinder mutual intelligibility.

Gulf varieties' closest related relatives are other dialects native to the Arabian Peninsula, i.e. Najdi Arabic and Bahrani Arabic. Although spoken over much of Saudi Arabia's area, Gulf Arabic is not the native tongue of most Saudis, as the majority of them do not live in Eastern Arabia. There are some 200,000 Gulf Arabic speakers in the country, out of a population of over 30 million, mostly in the aforementioned Eastern Province.
