CNG: Compressed Natural Gas

The full form of CNG is Compressed Natural Gas. CNG is also known as Green Fuel. It can be used as an alternative to petrol, diesel and propane or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). The burning of CNG creates less toxic gases than the previously mentioned fuels. CNG is widely used since it is a much more inexpensive and safer alternative to other fuel sources. Natural gas provides less of a risk in the case of a leak compared to other liquids, as it is lighter compared to air and scatters fast once it is released.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a compressed form of natural gas, composed primarily of methane [CH4]. Controlling air pollution is effective because it produces fewer undesirable gases than other petroleum products. Hence it is more environmentally friendly than other fuel products. It is safer than its other alternatives as CNG is lighter than air and expands quickly upon release. It is also an eco-friendly option and is commonly used in developed countries.

Cheap: It is cheaper than its other alternatives, for example, petrol and diesel which are used to power buses, cars and other automobiles. The maintenance cost of vehicles running on CNG is also less as compared to vehicles running on petrol and diesel.

Environment Friendly: It is more environment friendly as it emits less undesirable and harmful gases as compared to other alternatives i.e. Diesel and Petrol.

Clean and Efficient Engine: Using CNG makes the engine cleaner and more efficient. Unlike gasoline, CNG reduces harmful carbon deposits at the time of combustion. This results in a cleaner and more efficient engine as well as longer-lasting spark plugs. Oil changes are also minimized as carbon deposits contaminate the oil.
