Answer» NSG: National Security GuardThe National Security Guard (NSG) is a counter-terrorism unit under the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). It was founded on 22 September 1986 under the National Security Guard Act 1986, to protect the states against internal disturbances and to deal with terrorist activities after Operation Blue Star and the assassination of Indira Gandhi. The mission of NSG is “Train, equip and keep in readiness a special force capable of swiftly and effectively combating terrorism to live up to its motto Sarvatra Sarvottam Suraksha“. Mr.M.A. Ganapathy is the current (As of 2021) Director General of NSG and its headquarters is located in Mehram Nagar, Palam, New Delhi. NSG personnel are often referred to in the media as Black Cats because of the black dress and black cat insignia on their uniforms. The National Security Guard (NSG) was established in 1984 as a federal contingency deployment force to deal with all aspects of terrorism in the country. As a specialized counter-terrorism force, it is intended to be used “only in exceptional situations” and is not meant to handle “actions of state police forces or other para military forces”. NSG soldiers played crucial role in 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks and they are featured in the 2019 thriller film Hotel Mumbai, which is based on the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Other full forms of NSG
