IRS Full Form

In India, IRS stands for Indian Revenue Service. It is the administrative revenue service of the Government of India, established in 1953. It is primarily responsible for collecting and administering direct and indirect taxes accruing to the Government of India. Indian Revenue Service (IRS) functions under the Department of Revenue of the Ministry of Finance. IRS has two branches: IRS (Income Tax) and IRS (Customs and Central Excise). These two branches are controlled by two separate statutory bodies: Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), and Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) respectively.

Exam for Indian Revenue Service (IRS) is conducted by UPSC.The eligibility criteria for the IRS is almost the same as it is for other Group A services. A candidate who fulfills the following eligibility criteria is eligible for this exam.

• Must be a citizen of India
• Must have a graduate degree from a Central, State or Deemed University
• A correspondence degree recognized by the Govt. of India.
• A qualification recognized by the Govt. of India equivalent to any of the above.

LDC Full Form

The full form of LDC is Lower Division Clerk. A Lower Division Clerk (LDC) is a clerical post in Indian Government offices. This post is considered as the first level of clerks in all different types of organization that is run by the government. After completing 3-5 years one can get promoted to Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and so on.

To take the LDC exam, a candidate must possess the following:

• Should have passed 12th class or equivalent from a recognized Board/University.
• English typing speed @ 35 wpm on computer OR Hindi typing speed @ 30 wpm on computer per minute.
• Age Limit: 18 to 27 years. Upper age relaxation for reserved categories.

What is the full form of IAS?

In India, The full form of IAS is Indian Administrative Service. It is one of the most prestigious and top-rated services and is one of the three arms of the All India Services of the Government of India. Aspiring to be called an IAS officer is a dream who wants to contribute to the progress of the nation. IAS requires a lot of dedication and hard work. It is considered to be the toughest exam in India due to its highly competitive nature. For example: In 2012, more than 5 lakh students applied for this exam out of which only 170 got admitted for Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

• In 1858 the HEICCS (East India Company’s Civil Service) was replaced by the Indian Civil Service (ICS), which became the highest civilian service in the British Raj between 1858 and 1947.
• When India was partitioned after the British left in 1947, the Indian Civil Service was split between India and Pakistan. Indian ICS was renamed as Indian Administrative Service, while Pakistani ICS was renamed as Pakistan Administrative Service.
• The modern Indian Administrative Service was created under Part XIV of the Constitution of India and Article 312(2) of the All India Services Act, 1951.

There are three modes of recruitment in the Indian Administrative Service.

• IAS officers can enter the IAS by clearing the Civil Services Examination, which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Officers recruited in this way are called direct recruits.
• Some IAS officers are also recruited from state civil services.
• In rare cases, Recruitment is done from non-state civil service.

The ratio between direct recruitment and promotion is fixed at 2:1. All IAS officers, regardless of the mode of entry, are appointed by the President of India.

The following are the eligibility criteria to apply for this prestigious job:

• Nationality: Candidate must be Indian Citizen or Nepal/Bhutan/Tibetan dependent who came to India before 1st January, 1962.
• Age limit: Candidate age should be between 21 to 32 years in order to apply for UPSC..
• Education: Candidates should possess Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institute/University.
• Number of attempts: Only 6 attempts are allowed to clear the exam.

DST: Department of Science & Technology

The full form of DST is Department of Science & Technology. DST is a department within the Ministry of Science and Technology in India. It was established in May 1971 to promote new areas of science and technology in the country and to act as a nodal department for organizing, coordinating and promoting Science & Technology activities in the country. Department of Science & Technology (DST) has introduced various streams that later established themselves as departments or even ministries with focused goals and objectives. Some of these streams are the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), and Department of Electronics (DoE). ASHA: Accredited Social Health Activist

The full form of ASHA is Accredited Social Health Activist. ASHAs are local women trained to act as health educators and promoters in their communities. Selected from the community itself and accountable to it, the ASHA will be trained to work as an interface between the community and the public health system. At present, there are over 9 Lakh ASHAs. The ASHA scheme is presently in place in 33 states and Union Territories (except Goa, Chandigarh & Puducherry). The role of an ASHA is that of a community-level care provider. This includes a mix of tasks: facilitating access to health care services, building awareness about health care entitlements especially amongst the poor and marginalized, promoting healthy behaviors and mobilizing for collective action for better health outcomes.

• ASHAs must primarily be female residents of the village that they have been selected to serve, who are likely to remain in that village for the foreseeable future.
• Married, widowed or divorced women are preferred over women who have yet to marry since Indian cultural norms dictate that upon marriage a woman leaves her village and migrates to that of her husband.
• She should be a literate woman, preference for selection is they must have qualified up to the tenth grade.
• She preferably between the ages of 25 and 45.
• Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) will be chosen through a rigorous process of selection involving various community groups, self-help groups, Anganwadi Institutions, the Block Nodal officer, District Nodal officer, the village Health Committee and the Gram Sabha (local government).
