What is the full form of PCS?

The full form of PCS is “Provincial Civil Service”. It is also known as State Civil Service. Its employees work under the state government and cannot be transferred to other states. Each state has its own Public Service Commission which conducts an examination to select the employees. PCS officers hold various positions at the sub-division, district, mandal and state level to conduct law and order revenue administration. Half of the recruitment to the service is made on the basis of an annual competitive examination conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.

• Subject of Bhutan/ Nepal or
• Tibetan refugee who moved to India, with the intention of permanently settling here before January 1, 1962, or
• People of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

UPPSC prescribes the UP PCS 2022 age limit in the official UPPSC notification. As per the UPPSC PCS eligibility criteria, candidates between 21 to 40 years can fill the UPPSC application form. Reserved category candidates are eligible for age relaxation as per the rules set by the Commission.

UPPSC PCS educational qualifications for all the posts are also notified in the notification. According to the UPPSC PCS eligibility, candidates must have passed their bachelor’s degree to be eligible for the UP PCS exam.
