It is a central authority that is responsible for conducting recruitment examinations for posts under various categories of departments of the Government of India. The old name of this exam which is still being used by some people is Provincial Civil Service (PCS). What is PSC?Public Service Commission (PSC) works at the central level and also at the state level. The provision for the establishment of Public Service Commission for the Central as well as for the State was provided in Article 315 to 323 in Part XIV of the Constitution of India. The constitution reserves the power to remove members, its power and functions or to form an independent Public Service Commission. Government jobs are something which is important for the whole country, it makes for stable salary and stable running of the system.
